Come of Nothing

Embark on a chaotic journey of the mind in this one-man movement interpretation of King Lear

About the Production

Come of Nothing is a forty-five minute one-person physical theater performance exploring themes of madness and chaos. Through the lens of Shakespeare’s King Lear, the performance uses dance and movement language to examine psychological turmoil. By crafting Lear’s narrative through the physicality of a solitary body,  Come of Nothing tests the limits of non-verbal storytelling and asks the audience to construe movement as a manifestation of the mind.

A meditation on the complexities of psychosomatic interaction and an experiment in physical storytelling, Come of Nothing questions the power of identity in our mental and physical stability. What does it take for authority to disintegrate into chaos? What happens to the body when integral identities are removed? How do our physicalities reaffirm and redefine our identities and narrate our stories to others?
